Aryas Red Hot Chili Steppers
My daughter Arya has been going to kids center since she was a little under a year old. In the almost 3 years shes been there I can't even put into words the amount of progress shes made & how for she has come. We have 3 amazing therapists who have helped her on her journey to independence. She Went from only laying on her back, not eating anything solid, or trying to self feed, to rolling around, attempting & almost sitting independently. She has started eating almost every food you can imagine and even trying to & a majority of the time successfully self feeding. One of her more recent accomplishments is walking close to 300 feet in her gait trainer and learning how to use a K Walker. I am so grateful for Arya's therapists and everyone at kids center.
Arya is 4 years old and has a rare genetic disorder, Dopa Responsive Dystonia. Dopa-responsive dystonia is a disorder that involves involuntary muscle contractions, tremors, and other uncontrolled movements (dystonia). The features of this condition range from mild to severe. We are so lucky to have found her doctors and the kids center.
I walk because I share a special connection with Kids Center and whole-heartedly support their mission to help children with special needs reach their full potiential.
Since 1958, Kids Center for Pediatric Therapies has provided physical, occupational, and speech therapies to children with special needs all over Kentucky and Indiana. Kids Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit and provides these services regardless of the family's abilty to afford the cost of care. Which is why we need your support!!
